Job Title: Estimator/Project Engineer

We are seeking a talented Construction Estimator with experience in the unique landscape and construction challenges of Western Pennsylvania.

Job Summary

The Construction Estimator will play an integral role in both the pre-construction and execution phases of projects. With a strong background in estimating, this position requires an individual who can manage project costs, schedules, and risks while working closely with project teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction and projects, considering the specific challenges of working in Western Pennsylvania, such as hilly terrain, soil conditions, and weather-related delays.

• Site Assessments & Coordination: Conduct site visits to evaluate project scope, local environmental conditions, and logistical challenges, providing input to project planning.

• Bid Preparation & Procurement: Prepare bid packages, source and evaluate local vendors and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with project requirements and regional standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in estimating, with a preference for candidates who have worked on projects in Western Pennsylvania or similar environments.

• Skills:

  • Proficient in cost estimating software (e.g., Planswift).

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project management, and budgeting.

  • Ability to interpret construction documents, blueprints, and technical specifications.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project), with the ability to manage complex data.
